Civil servants in Katsina State will get N10,000 each, in addition to their monthly salaries, as part of the government’s effort to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.

A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Mohammed, noted that retired civil servants would get an additional N5,000 allowance to their monthly benefits.

The statement added that the allowance was first announced by the Head of Service (HoS), Usman Isyaku, and that beneficiaries would start receiving the allowance from January 2024.

“Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has approved the disbursement of N10,000 allowance to civil servants and N5,000 allowance to pensioners in the state to alleviate the effect of subsidy removal.

“The announcement was made public today (Thursday) by the state’s HoS, Usman Isyaku, emphasising the governor’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of the workforce,” he said.
